Indian rummy is a meld-building card game commonly played with thirteen-card hands. The practical objective is to organise the hand into valid sequences and sets, with at least one natural same-suit sequence in widely used formats.

A practical method

Begin by sorting cards by suit and natural order. Protect an existing pure run, identify cards that connect to more than one possible group, and treat isolated high cards as decisions rather than decorations.

Good judgement at the table

A good learner does not chase every possibility. Choose a small plan, watch what becomes visible in the discard pile, and revise only when the new information meaningfully changes the hand.
